Varshal's photo reminds me of a photo shoot for some fashion magazine with one model waiting in the wings and the assistant standing by. The light coming through the edge of the sari at her shoulder is a nice touch.

Atiya's photo of the insect is set off very well against the different textures and colors.

Balaji's photo of the cell towers and smog (or is it fog) is very revealing about what is important or at least what has become dominant for the community. Balaji's photos show a lot of interest in colors and they are often strikingly set off by the brown surroundings.

I find Dipika's two pictures interesting. The one with all the geometry lines shows the electric wires contrasting against the lines of the windows and even the bricks of the buildings.

Then the photo of the man drinking a glass of something green is very striking. The green really stands out.

Gaju's photo of the colorful blue sari against the gray building is striking too.

Nitin's photo of the woman milking is interesting because of the mist or fog that is coming in from behind. It isn't clear to me what it behind the cow--houses, temple? But the photo conveys a lot of character.

Mom Holmes knows a lot more about photography than I do, but I thought I'd take a shot anyway.
Santosh's photo struck me the most; it seems that he picked a good profile candidate, which is one thing. But he managed to capture her fearless expression, too.
Varshal's photo is different from the others in that he is documenting something. Varshal, why did you take this picture? Was it because of the angle, because action was happening- or as Mom Holmes notes, because of some seriously scary scaffolding. Do you want to be a photojournalist in other words?
Awesome project. Please keep posting new stuff all the time.

Varshal must like to climb because he/she was looking down on the workers. I find it interesting to see what the construction methods are in India. I bet a photo of the scaffolding would be pretty scary.

I like all the photos. They show the students are learning about framing the picture (Dipika) and symmetry (Pavan). I like Santosh's capture of the child's expression and the attempt at the use of natural light. I like the whimsical way Jayshri did his/her photo and suspect it is a reflection on a very interesting personality.

But who took the photo of the students? I assume it is of the students in the class? How about a caption so we can tell who is who please.

The photo from the first wk is very interesting in the use of the orange wall behind the two women. Very dramatic. I do not see names associated with those photos so can not comment by name.

Keep it up. Personally I'd like to see photos of the whole college, the vegetation and animals, birds if anyone has time to document those things.
